Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino firmly addressed Donald Trump’s comments suggesting the Panama Canal could return to U.S. control:
“Every square meter of the canal belongs and will belong to Panama.”
Mulino emphasized that Panama’s sovereignty is non-negotiable and demanded respect for his country, stating, “Panama treats others with respect, and we expect the same in return.”
He also highlighted national unity on this issue, saying, “Panamanians may have different opinions on certain issues, but when it comes to our canal and sovereignty, we unite under our common flag.”
