Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership pact during Putin’s landmark visit to Pyongyang.
A new treaty signed between North Korea and Russia provides for “mutual assistance” in case either country faces aggression, Putin said Wednesday following talks in Pyongyang.
“The comprehensive partnership treaty signed today provides, among other things, for mutual assistance in case of aggression against one of the parties to this treaty,” Putin was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.
Putin and Kim concluded one-on-one talks that lasted about two hours.
Kim told Putin that North Korea intends to further improve its strategic cooperation with Russia, and that Pyongyang will also unconditionally support all of Russia’s policies.
He also asserted that North Korea fully supports Russia’s war in Ukraine
President Putin:
– The agreement provides for the provision of mutual assistance in the event of aggression against one of the participants
– Moscow does not exclude the possibility of military-technical cooperation with Pyongyang

On April 11, 2002, the Venezuelan elite, the Church, and some military members organized a coup against then-President Hugo Chavez. However, the Venezuelan people swarmed the streets to protect the Bolivarian revolution and overpowered the US-backed right-wing coup.
The coup plotter aimed to form a de facto government headed by Pedro Carmona, a business mogul and former president of the chambers of commerce, which would dissolve all other state powers and local authorities.
The people brought Hugo Chavez back to power in just 47 hours. The counterrevolutionary offensive backfired, as mass mobilization politicized additional segments of the population, who also organized themselves into Bolivarian collectives.

The My Lai massacre was a war crime committed by the United States Army on 16 March 1968, involving the mass murder of unarmed civilians in Sơn Mỹ village, Quảng Ngãi province, South Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. At least 347 and up to 504 civilians, almost all women, children, and elderly men, were murdered by U.S. soldiers from C Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 11th Brigade and B Company, 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 11th Brigade of the 23rd (Americal) Division (organized as part of Task Force Barker). Some of the women were gang-raped and their bodies mutilated, and some soldiers mutilated and raped children as young as 12. The incident is the largest massacre of civilians by U.S. forces in the 20th century.
